For you pea pros that use or have used another to incubate pea eggs... What do you think is wisest? Leaving the pea eggs under the Cochin hen thru hatch or move to incubator before hatch and hatch out in the incubator?? Please give me your thoughts with pros and cons .....what's best, wisest, safest?

In my opinion only.... There is no way better to hatch peachicks than under a Cochin .... I have always let a peahen set if I find she is trustworthy. A lot of the mothering has been bred out of peafowl and some will not set long enough. I do have number of them that do a good job.. A good Cochin will remember which nest she got up from and go back to it, many chickens will not be as good and if they got up and another he got on her nest to lay and then got off , then he eggs can set and get to cold. I would hatch them under the Cochin hen.. Good luck however you go ... connerhills

I think Cochin hens are not perching very high for the night ... who will teach your young peacocks to perch for the night!
Sleeping on the ground for peacocks is not good!
The same problem with silkies !
