Good quality cochins are yes. Hatchery - no. Bantams are more common than standard cochins.

They definitely aren't rare around here.

Farm stores order from a hatchery. Here is a picture difference between a show quality (bred by a breeder) and a hatchery quality (bred by a hatchery)

Ideal Hatchery pullet I raise Standard Cochins. They look a bit different than the bantams.
