cochins as broody hens.

id like to hear of anybodies experience with cochins as broody hens. are they all there cracked up to be? im thinking about getting a few barred cochins.

I have cochins they are almost too good. I have a hen that went broody over a month ago. I tried to break her but no go. So I caved in and gave her 2 eggs to sit. What a happy girl she is now.

At one time I have 3 of them sitting on one nest of 2 eggs. They took turns sitting the eggs and both hatched.

I have a standard cochin, that has been setting for a few weeks. This is her first clutch, so I don't know how good she is doing, but she has a problem with breaking the eggs. She also gets off the nest about 3 times a day. But we'll see. I think she has about 10 eggs left now.
