Cochin's comb

I have an eight week old cochin that I hatched....was not the breed I ordered, but anyhow I've never had a cochin before so I'm not familiar with their comb growth. By this time would it be showing any red if it was a roo? I've got a friend who can take it if it's a pullet. This one has absolutely no red showing in the comb.

I've got a couple of 5 week old cochin roos and their combs have some red to them.

Is its comb still real small too?

I think cochin hens combs are usually really slow growing.

Great....thanks....I'm saying it's a pullet based on your picture. Her's is very small and no red at all yet at 8 weeks.

My Cochins were early bloomers: roosters were obvious by 4 to 6 weeks!

My cochin bantam's comb grew really fast at first. I was almost sure it was a roo, but it was a pullet. The comb pretty much stopped growing after the first growth spurt.
