While it is true that English Orpingtons have some Cochin influence, as American Orpingtons are watered down versions of them they do too. But like literally everything bred in the US, size and quality are lacking. Examples can easily be found when comparing English Budgies to American Parakeets, English (or any other European) Zebra Finch versus American Zebra Finches, as well as many others. Americans have a "get rich quick" mentality that often results in quantity over quality being produced...
