Not yet. I will wait until spring so I can see if he does better with full grown ducks.
Oh ok. You know, every time I introduce a new duck to the flock they always fight for a little (no one is ever hurt the slightest) so when the ducklings are older they might fight a bit but it’s natural. He is just trying to confirm he is the alpha to them. If you didn’t know.

He is not trying to confirm he is alpha to them. He trys to kill them. Drakes will kill ducklings so that he can sire more ducklings with the hen. I will not tolerate any fighting amongst my ducks.

Ooh I forgot about that they fight with ducklings. Hopefully he will be nicer when they are females and adults! I usually have to separate ducks often and then bring them back in. Since they are all the same size they manly just grab each other and then stop fighting in 5-10 min then are sleeping together 😂 and cuddling 😂

They are all females. The main reason he is doing this is because he did not sire these ducklings. The previous two ducklings I had, which were my hen ducks, were both drakes and my older drake had no problem whatsoever with them. In fact, he was very upset when I sold them.

Yes, I know. I’m saying when the females are adults and sexually mature for breeding. Are you ready for incubation though? Most Pekins don’t sit on there own eggs. By most I mean like 85-90%. My Pekins never did sadly.

The drake was upset? That’s so cute. A lot of drakes will attack the ducklings when they are older. You got a lucky drake 😉

I have two notoriously broody duck breeds, and I'm buying an incubator.
