Would full sized Cochins do better living with bantams or with standard hens?
We have 6 day old Cochins coming May 1. I have a coop and run for my standard hens and another coop and run for my silkies and other bantams. I’ve never had Cochins before so just wondering what others would do. Thanks!

I've owned bantam cochins and "feedstore standard" cochins. Both of these are VERY different from Show Quality Standard sized cochins.

Show quality standard sized cochins sometimes don't even fit in the show cages at fair! While our "feestore standard sized" ones could very well. They're around the same size as our easter eggers (just more round) while the show quality ones were as big, or bigger than brahmas (show quality brahmas) and I've seen cochin rooster rival australorps and jersey giants in size before... they can come quite big.

However the "standard cochins" we got from the feedstore were a nice medium large size that worked really well with our flock of both standards and bantams. I'd be a little cautious with them and silkies (show size or not) just because of their general size and I've seen some be food hogs, although they're generally friendly. I can't see any issues with them and your standards though (no matter what size they are) but in the end it's totally up to you : D
