cock a dodle dooooooo at 3 AM

I recently was GIVEN 2 silkie roos one is young and doesnt crow yet but the other one is about 1 1/2 yo and he crows ALL the time I mean All the time! I moved them to a smaller coop that I can make really dark so he does'nt crow so much at night... but the minute I open it up in the morning he starts his crowing and crowing and crowing every 3-5 minutes for the first 3-4 hrs after he is let out in the morning then every 20-30 minutes after that... all day and all evening till I put him to bed at night. Seem like he would get hourse but he does'nt he goes on and on and on. Now my neighbor is complaining. We live in the country but her house is fairly close. What am I to do. I like him he is very docile and he takes care of his business very well.
If this is normal I guess I might have to find him a new home I don't want my neighbor mad at me we are good friends but this is really annoying to her and she has health problems do you all think he may settle down after a while? I have only had him about a month.
Thank you all very much.

If it was me, I would stick that rooster in a small box for an hour or so during the day

Not saying that you should... just saying "I" would.
I don't know if that would work anyway but he would have made me so mad xD

Back to OP, Mine have been really bad the last couple of nights because of clear skies and a full moon. Much more crowing than usual.

Ours will start crowing at night if the goats start yelling.. We have Nubians which are charicteristically, obnoxiously, notoriously loud and will SCREAM at you if they think they deserve to have grain for some reason.. Often, this happens at about 11pm or later.

Well, you'll hear first one goat, then another, then another, and all of a sudden it's COCKA DOODLE DOOOOOOOOOOO!

We set off a chain reaction once where I heard the goats in our barn, then the roosters in the barn, then a couple other goats we've got on the other side of the house, and off in the distance, someone else's rooster from way up the road! Just baaaarely could hear him..

I told my wife not long ago that maybe we should consider getting rid of the roosters.. I doubt we'll hatch any chicks at home, and....meh, ya know. I was just spitballin..thinking out loud, mostly.

Much to my surprise, she said "You don't even wanna keep one? I mean..um..I kinda like to hear them crow."

Mine start usually at 4:00-4:30am. The other day (maybe the time change like someone said-how would they know though lol) I heard them start going off right at three! I thought "What in the world? Someone must be outside."

As I've said before, we are butt to butt in the city with our neighbors. I have five roosters. One we call "Kujo" will get out of his nest box and crow if someone comes out from the house in the middle of the night and turns the porch light on. Or...the other night when we got home from a show at 11 something on a Sunday night, they decided to announce they were home.

If he's really being a bother, put a perch up really high where he can't stretch his neck. Gotta stretch their necks to crow. Or every night you can put him in a box or small cage until you are ready for him to crow the next day.

My roos only crow when they they are let out of the coop in the mornings. I keep a low light on in both coops, I don't know if maybe that helps them not crow? During the day, the roo who lives with the pullets with have a crow-off with his rival in the bachelor pen. Sometimes the other bachelors will chime in.

I personally love listening to their crows!
