Cockatiels

If anyone knows her gender I have no clue I’m just calling it her. If anyone has any taming ideas I would love to hear those to because she/he is wild!

Do you know the rough age? If it still looks like that as an adult, it's a female. If it's a male, it will lose the pearls and end up looking more like this.

This is my Terry. He used to be covered in pearls.

I have plenty of taming ideas. Does he/she take treats from your hand? This is the first step.

I have a pearl tiel, but he's a male, so he lost all his pearls.

We have a young whiteface pearl who is losing his pearls slowly but surely. It is kinda sad when they do (@Cinnamon11 that's a good indication and it's around 6 months old that they start to lose them when they go through a big molt).

Terry is still gorgeous though! 🥰

About 2-4 months if I put my hand in the cage he/she will try to fly away and fast. By the way Terry is beautiful!

Perhaps try to avoid putting your hand in the cage where possible, while he/she is still getting used to you. Try going up to the cage up to a distance where he/she is comfortable and not stressed by your presence, and just talk softly to him/her. This will show him/her that your presence doesn't mean scary hand in my cage. Maybe also put some millet (or whatever favourite treat) in the cage for whenever you're there so that he/she associates your presence with treats. Eventually you should be able to hold the millet/treat up to the cage while he/she eats.
This is a slow process, don't try to rush it, but it should give you a first step.

After this I would recommend target training (I can send a link to a video about it if you like), but for the moment, focus on getting him/her comfortable with your presence, And don't rush, very important step.
I have a pair of former breeding princess parrots who were three years old when I got them and completely un-tame and terrified. They are now super friendly and trained to fly to me on cue. But, bear in mind this took a year. Yours should take this long, but just remember patience.

Hope this is helpful.
