Cockatoo

Once upon a time years ago I was walking down the canal me and my friend in England and an African grey was walking down the path in front of us and not flying away. At that time in my life I never even knew what a parrot was but it was just chiiling around us and we found it strange so we picked it up and it decided it would give us a good bite so we threw our coat over decided to take it home. A day later there was a advert in the local paper a lost pet we replied to the advert and returned the bird to it's owner not knowing that these birds were highly valuable. When we returned him to the owner he said "thanks" turned around and walked off in a miserable tone. If I had known then what I did now and due to his lousy reply I would have kept the bird haha, well most probably not but thats the closest I will get to one in my life. Those birds are the holy grail of bird keeping :love
They are, super smart! Sad that the owner wasn't so happy to get it back

I only have budgies. Here are some pictures of them just because.

One day I'll a Conure or Cockatiel. Just too busy with the critters I already do have.

Hey all, a lady I work with at the hospital has come into poor health and has offered to give me a Cockatoo. I currently keep budgies quail and soon to add ducks to my family. My question is I have been told that a Cockatoo can get hyper agressive and be a nightmare bird to keep, does anyone know if this is true? I have asked in other forums but got a mixture of answers. I am not new to keeping parrots and have even had good luck with them but I don't want to get myself into something I regret. Any advice appreciated :)
My brother rescued one 25 years ago and keeps her in his office across from his desk .She's very sweet but not above biting anyone she doesn't like.I pet her every time I go to the office but don't pick her up. She's hard to get back in the cage once you let her out .She also shrieks when she wants attention. It will rattle your eardrums she's so loud.

So cute 😍 I recommend conure, they are SO SWEET and gorgeous. I miss my mango. Our cockatiel is very aggressive to the point we can't bring her out of her cage. My mom said she was nice until we got a dog and couldn't bring her out anymore.
