Unfortunately he died last night. I put him in the fridge and plan on bringing him to the state tonight. I expect to hear that he had marek'sI've only had chickens for a little over 2 years and it hasn't been the best experiences. I rehomed my first flock as most of them had a repetitive respiratory infection and bumble foot (the person taking them was aware). I was really careful about cleaning my coop and letting it air out for over 6 months and then investing in good quality birds from reputable breeders which was not cheap and now lost my 12th bird and probably have a horrible disease spreading through my flock. This might be the end of the chicken road for me

I got some results back today. I have high infestations of Capillaria, Coccidiosis, & Histomoniasis. I am reading up on how to deworm my flock with some articles given to me by the contact from the state. This was probably due to stress and tight temporary housing while I had to build a new coop from 2 bear attacks.
Marek's is a possibility because the sciatic nerve was inflamed but not definite. They are doing more tests to try and determine for sure. She thinks if it was marek's that it came out due to low immune system from the parasites. I'm going to keep my flock for the next year (barring any unforeseen big problems) and see how it goes. If any birds get sick I will cull and then consider breeding for immunity next year.
