Cockeral can't walk

Also, I was at tractor supply and bought 2 water soluble supplements (to give them after treatment) to keep their immune systems up. One is probiotics, electrolytes, and vitamins and another is herb based like oregano and thyme. They were less than $10 ea and make a lot of water so definitely worth the investment IMO.

I have 2 chicks that are bred from my own flock and the parents are doing well, so hopefully they'll have immunity bred into them. I have 6 chicks from a flock in FL that I'm pretty worried about since they're from so far away, fingers crossed. I have 2 from a local breeder that is highly reputable so hopefully his birds have some immunity as well.

Capillary worms require 5 days of treatment, and SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer 1/4 ml per pound of weight given orally to each bird is a good treatment. I do not think that ivermectin will treat it, but Casportpony is a good authority on worming. There is a new form of SafeGuard out that she recently posted about called SafeGuard Aquasol, available online from ValleyVetSupply that you can mix in the water. I am not sure of the exact dosage, but will try to find it. Edited to say that the cost of this compared to the goat wormer is very expensive. Dosage is 0.454 mg per pound daily for 5 days, but still difficult to calculate in a waterer. I would use the goat wormer, and give each chicken a daily dose for 5 days.
For histomoniasis, that may require FishZole (metronidazole) available online from fish supply companies. The usual dose is 25 mg per pound twice a day for 5 days. The Fish Zole can be found in 250 mg and 500mg capsules, so you may need to divide a capsule into multiple doses.

I was told not to really worry about histomoniasis as it really only affects turkeys. The chickens will be "carriers" but not affected by it.
