Cockeral or Pullet?

Crowing varies as well. A few weeks back one of my EE's made a funny squacking noise like SHE was trying to crow at age 6 wks or so. Made me look at her a little closer because I thought all of my 10 were pullets. She's the only one with the pea comb where all the others have the single comb.

If your girl ends up being a roo, I'll trade you for one of my barred rock pullets.

I was hoping at least one of my pullets was a roo for flock protection as I'm on 4 acres with many wooded acres surrounding me.

I wouldn't really go by the size of the feet and legs either. My three barred rock grew HUGE feet before any others in addition to being much heavier. My 3 buffs are much smaller and lighter.

Good luck with yours.

I don't know. Don't give she/he away yet. I have 3 barred rock who developed their comb at differing rates then each other and a lot quicker than the buffs, EE's, and RIR's.

Pics of mine at 5.5 wks and 7 wks.

Yup big girls but they're all GIRL colored, not boy colored. And those aren't boy cankles just big girl feet. Mine had big girl feet but you could still tell the cockeral cankles.

Her's is boy barred. Very very very few females ever that brightly barred.

Another thing if you look closely at his comb, as opposed to the combs of the trio of barred pullets you can see that his comb is already broadening at the points and base and pinking up.

While the even older trio have pronounced combs it's still a very tight blade, very sharp yellow points despite prominence.
