Any recommendations for pain and antibiotic meds for my cockerel? The fox had him in its mouth, but we were able to scare the fox away. There is bite wounds on the chickens back.

We have penicillin, should we give that to him and if so what dosage?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I will post pictures soon.

I had a hen attacked by a dog about a month ago, we cleaned it with peroxide initially then used neosporin every day. No pain meds were used and she’s recovered from that wound already. Chickens can be surprisingly resilient. Avoid neosporin with pain relief though, that’s supposed to be not good for birds.
Thanks for replying. He seems fine without the pain meds right now.

My pullet was attacked by a dog, which ripped a 2 inch patch of her skin completely off. I made her a chicken apron out of a clean sock, and dropped colloidal silver on the open wound every day. She grew her skin and feathers back in a short period.
