Hi! My dark Brahma just hit 20 weeks and he’s trying to crow. Or that’s what it looks like. He’s acting like he’s in a silent film, making the neck curve and everything, opens his mouth a LITTLE bit, but it’s as if he doesn’t even know what noise to make. Has anyone else had a rooster do that?

I’m an anxious momma and worry whether or not I should be concerned about an impaction or not lol. I’m used to seeing peoples cockerels scream bloody murder instead of starting silent.

nice photos for tax.

Brahmas are often slow to mature and that can mean being late to find their voices. Your handsome boy will get the idea pretty soon. :)

My in-town rooster was a Light Brahma, who had a beautiful, deep, resonant crow.

all of my cockerels started out with a neck exercise and what sounds like a defective birthday horn for a couple of weeks. Don’t worry.. your beautiful boy will be loud and clear at O’dark:30 before you know it 😛
