I've watched 2 days in a row now that one EE cockerel is pulling pullets out of the nest box to mate. Yesterday he pulled a BO that isn't laying yet, but her comb is getting prety red. Today, he pulled my one laying pullet out of the box. Her roo stepped in and got him off. She eventually went back to the box when I shooed the EE away. I know the cockerels are frustrated, as not many (if only 1) hens are ready to be mated. I have 25 cockerels that will be butchered in Sept. Should that EE go sooner?

you need to remove the roosters. I had to pull my younger roosters from the pullets they were with. I have 1 rooster with 20 hens.

I have about 30 pullets. I ordered straight run. They are all 18 wks old. Butcher day is in about 2 weeks.
