How early can you tell the difference between a cockerel or a pullet in a Polish or silkie breed? what are the signs?

Thank you! I just got two polish and two Silkie straight runs. One of each is for my niece and we're hoping that at least one of each will be female. I'm raising them for her until they're old enough to go out on their own.Silkies cans be as young as 4 weeks (look for a wide developed comb) or it may be 5-6 months before you can tell. I have never had polish so don’t know about sexing them.
I got them from Ideal Poultry. I also got some Spangled Russian orloffs, some buff Brahma, Silver Laced Cochin, silver Spangled Hamburg, and Silver lakenvelders. I'm super excited about my new babies! You’re WelcomeDid your silkies come from a breeder or hatchery/feed store?
Thank you! I love the fuzzy butt stage!Good luck and have fun...
