So, the chick is a mix? The father is not the correct feather coloring to be a Black Copper Maran.

Father was supposed to be a pure Black Copper Maran but can’t count on that with local breeders. Chick is a mix of Father being a BCM and mother Buff Orpington.

I hatched this BCM Black Copper Maran he is a solid black with feathered legs with two other Buff Orpington. I’m pretty certain it’s a rooster now at 7 weeks old with its long tail compared to other two. Any confirmations out there?
