So in the ever ongoing effort to figure out exactly what my 5 EE are I have a question about them ‘squaring off’ with each other. They are 7.5 weeks old now, the 2 I know are cockerels for sure I saw would spar/chest bump and challenge each other. Now I’m seeing the dominate one do it with another one, so does this mean the other one is a boy too or will they do that with hens as well?
I have one hen for certain and I have not seen her partake in this behaviour at all. Really worried 4/5 are cockerels...sigh.

I have six 8 week old chicks. My two for sure males square up against each other and puff up there hackle feathers. My other ones do some of the play fighting but not nearly as bad. I think some of it is just normal chick behavior and they’re having fun. Mine are also Easter Eggars and I am about 80% sure of their gender but I have heard Easter Eggars are notoriously bad for gender identification. One of my “females” has a slightly pinker comb so I’ve got my eye on “her”.

I have some 7 weeks-old youngsters that are obvious which are boys and girls. Before I rehomed the extra boys a couple days ago, those cockerels sparred a LOT, sometimes there was a 3-way challenge.
The remaining boy occasionally does it w the girls, but they rarely return the gesture.

pic at 4 weeks of age. Combs on the 3 boys are already obvious. I kept them 3 more weeks, and rarely observed any sparring w or between the girls.

I have 2 very obvious boys and 2 question marks. Only one I'm certain must be a hen. I should clarify I bought them as EE but just saw on FB she is posting them as "barnyard mix"... Idk if that makes a difference in the timeline of being able to tell sexes of some. I'd keep them all if I could but sadly we are not set up (or experienced enough!) for that.

Different breeds mature at different rates. Maybe in another week, you'll be sure. Post some pics and let us guess.
You would not want to keep them all. They will get to where you won't be able to stand them, really.
