I have a 17 week old blue birchen marans cockerel that has recently started limping. His right (knee?) joint is swollen and red. This has gotten worse over the past two weeks. At first I noticed a slight limp once in a while with no swelling. Now it is much larger than his left side. He still wants to be out with my other chickens. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? He’s my baby and I don’t like to see him in pain. I’d like to treat it at home if at all possible

Can you take him to the vet?
Swelling with redness that is getting progressively worse sounds like it's infected.

I ended up separating him and keeping him inside where I could watch him. I gave him aspirin and wrapped his leg. It seems it helped. He’s now enjoying the yard and trying to beat me up. Lol

Well, that's good news (sort of) LOL I like the part where he has recovered, but not so much that he is trying to beat you up. Hopefully you can work with him and resolve that issue as well.
