Basic thing to look for is comb and wattle growth and coloring. Also basically each individual breed has a unique something you should look for regarding gender. The hard part is that not all birds are a like and growth varies, one bird you know is a cockerel at 3 weeks the other one you can't be sure of until is 14 weeks. Haha I have read 2 blog posts since writing this question and they all say about the same thing! 50/50 chance! Hopefully the people wanting chicks don't mind the guessing game either or can wait until I can be more sure! Thank you for the response!
