Hi I have 2 cockerels that need a good home. I have too many at the moment and those are the 2 I'm least fond of. Anyways, the first one I'd like to give away is a blue Cochin cockerel named Benny that I got from a lady who also had too many roosters. I wasn't going to get him but my mom really wanted him so I gave in and got him, along with 2 other bantam roosters. Anyways, when I got him home I took him out of the pet taxi and he bit me. He has only bitten me twice, and that was when I first brought him home, so I'm guessing he was just scared. I believe the lady said he was hatched in June. Anyways, the reasons I decided to give him away are:1) I was just never fond of him from the beginning 2) He's very big and I have a lot of small banty hens and small layer hens, so I'm afraid he'll hurt them if he tries to mount them and 3) I have too many roosters. I would like to see him go to a home that doesn't kill their roosters, but..... The second cockerel I'd like to have gone is a black sex link. My hen hatched him out on August 28th or 29th, one of the two. His dad was my RIR rooster and his mom was my cuckoo maran hen. His mom is rather flighty and doesn't like to be held and his dad was a bit aggressive, but he's not anymore. I just had to show him I wasn't afraid of him and that I am the boss. The little guy's name is Noah, named after the dead The Walking Dead character. He is rather flighty and a big scaredy cat, but all in all I think he will be a nice rooster when he is older. He can be a bit aggressive towards other roosters sometimes, but they're all older than him and put him in his place. He has never been aggressive to me and neither has his half-brother, Pippin, who was hatched in July and has the same dad. I would also like to see him go to a home that doesn't kill their roosters, more so than Benny.( just to be clear when I mentioned Pippin I did not mean he was for sale/I was giving him away. I am keeping Pippin, I just wanted everyone to know that Noah's brother isn't aggressive. I just wanted to clear that up so no one thought I was giving Pippin away as well.) They do not have to go to the same home, either. I would just like them both gone. I will post pictures later as I am at school and on a school computer, and their wifi doesn't work so I can't post pictures from my iPod. I will hopefully have them up by 5:00 tonight. I do not ship, as I have never done that before, so if you would like them you would have to come pick them up. If you are interested please pm me as I do not want personal info such as my mom's phone number, address, etc. on the internet. Thanks. I live in Wisconsin, by the way. I just thought I'd add that Benny was from a hatchery, but I do not have his certification thingy. All of my flock is also from a hatchery or hatched from certified salmonella and pullorum free birds. I have just gotten done treating my flock for cocci because I thought my one hen had it, and on Saturday I will be worming them. The rest of my flock do not look like have any signs of worms or cocci, including Benny and Noah, but I treated them all/will be treating them all just to be safe.
