Cockerels vs Pullets

We were given 19 chicks from a friend who provided fertilized eggs to the local school to hatch. A nice variety of mix breed barnyard style chickens. Trying to convince my wife which are pullets and which are cockerels. They are about 8 to 9 weeks old.

Those neon anklets are the ones we (me) are leaning towards cockerel on.

The fifth with the mullet is a 5 toe party animal.

#5 is hilarious! There are a few breeds with five toes-Salmon Faverolles and Dorkings spring to mind-so it’s possible it has something like that in its genetics. I love funky looking chickens. Especially accidentally funny looking chickens.

A few photos of some of the other hens. 1 and 2 I am on the fence

2, 7, and 10, are pullets. The rest are cockerels.

These all look like pullets to me, but I would keep an eye on 2. That would could be a slower developing cockerel.
