Coco was sexed as a female at a day old by the hatchery. However, at 4 weeks old she's presented some characteristics (large, raised pinking comb, mostly upright posture, and in comparison to my other female chick of different breeds very small/sparse tail feathers) and trying to jump on the back of a pullet. All that had me thinking COCKEREL. Then, I stumbled on an old-timer's theory about the length of the outer toes (if the outer toe lengths are uneven its a male, if even a female) which is interesting. I know it's still pretty early but I'm curious about your thoughts. This is our 1st time raising chicks. I love he/she but SHE turns out to be a HE, we'd have to re-home him. Tell us what you think.
