wrong again they are laced and red cocoapop no splash so look again ........

WTFail..?

like in the post joey put up explaining it's genetics... captain cocopop was a dun laced chocolate columbian melanized laced mohagany silver chicken... since there is dun in the mix, you are going to get splash, witch in the dun world, it's called khaki... don't tell me they won't because i just hatched out some black, dun and khaki silver duckwings last weekend from a trio of dun silver duckwings...

you seriously need to learn how chicken genetics work before saying ANYTHING on here... get a book or something... chocolate and chocolate breeds chocolate, dun and dun breeds 50% khaki 25% dun and 25% black just like blue...

hold on let me get some crayons on here to help you out...

Gumbii, you have to understand...You can take a horse to the water but you can't make him drink. Oh no, oh no, oh no ...

not avoiding at all cara just havent taken the pics of the hen I will post them and joey good for you on the win they are nice birds I give you that but you know that I always say they are a little on the big size not what I like but glad you won its ok cause I have the same bloodline as you do but I chose not to breed them cause of their size leg color and so on and if this is what kate and amy score your bird to win at the First Show then let it be but their will be better birds send in your birds to the CC cause thats where I will be next year bro I dont care for the SoCal show too little and small amount of birds at the CC thats where true champ will be. Cocoapop line is a champion bloodline time and time again.

Cocopop will NOT breed true, ask the experts. Hey, like Jerry says...Your dime, your time. The photo you posted is absolutely not "pumpkin." Let's see the parents that you are claiming are producing TRUE cocopop, that's all we are asking. I don't want to see pics of Cara's birds posted by you, show me YOUR birds that YOU have that you are claiming are producing this color for you now and that you are claiming that if I buy one of your $35 chicks I am guaranteed to get cocopop offspring!!

Hey, I guess if your gonna dream, dream big, huh Ken??!! Think you can go to the CC and beat Grady Taylor and Jerry - you go man! You have absolutely NO idea what a serama show is all about or any idea of the qualitly of birds there. And, as far as our SoCal show not being big enough for you - it was bigger than the first five years of the Cajun Classic!!! So, that tells me that eventually we will have a larger show here on the west coast than they have in Louisiana and we did one hell of a good job putting this together!!

leg coloration and size is only a fraction of the total score... i'm sure that you know that they are judged and ranked in points... maybe legs is only 10 points, and joey's birds are perfect everywhere else... score a high 90 out of 100 points possible... also... you can have a gorgeous cocopop roo competing, and if a gorgeous white typey roo comes along, your colorful bird won't equal up to it at all...

just saying...

cocopop is just a random color that one chicken had... it's not a true color... seramas should be more about type than anything else...

hi kate... ♥

but remember that a lot of different malay chickens breed true... including shamo... i'm working on a silver laced red shamo... i know it's gonna take me years, but it's a realistic goal... that said, a cocopop pair to breed true is very possible... like i said before, you just have to isolate the genes... the only problem would be to work on type later on... but i'm glad some enthusiast here are grouping together to take on the impossible... but like i said, the genes are in the birds already... now it's time for selective breeding, and line breeding on a huge scale to get it done... then worry about type... LOL...

just because the parents were one color morph, does NOT mean that it will be split for the colors... if one parent is split for lavender, and the other one is split for dun, only 20% will be split for lavender 20% dun 50% both and 10% or more will be split for nothing... again, there is more to genetics than you know... such as in line breeding, you never know which offspring will produce what you want... that's why it takes years to make a color breed true... YEARS!!!... it's not like, put it in the microwave face up and push [popcorn]... no sir... do you think it took a couple of weeks to make a chicken look like they do now from how wild jungle fowl look...?

no...
