Codependent Guineas?

Mine were hatched in May and I only have four. They are very quiet also and love it when I sit outside with them. However, just recently, they started squawking just as it's getting dark out. I come out to check on them and they shut right up. I go back into the house and they start up again. When I look out the window, they are not in distress. Just standing there making a ruckus! lol. Silly guineas!! After a few minutes of voicing their opinions, they get up on their roost and go to sleep! lol. Gotta love 'em!!

Mine were hatched in May too, and these are my first Guineas also. I heard all about the wild, untouchable guineas too. Mine are acting like yours hanging close to the house. Hope they mature into searching our entire property. This is them today, hanging out in a lawn chair, if they had cold drinks with little umbrellas they would be so happy.

It took ours a few weeks before they would leave the perimeter of the house, and now they free range almost a 1/4 mile away during the day. They've also discovered the road out front! We have 18, so they are pretty brave as a group... but I could see a small group just going to the same place every day, especially if there aren't many or any males. I can't say I miss cleaning all of the poop off my front and back porch every night though, so I'm glad they've "spread their wings" and are exploring the yard (and all of the neighbors, LOL).
