Hello! New to this forum so I'm going to take advantage of all your collective expertise and ask many questions! First being my coop is on the earth and I just add my hay and toss it around a bit to do the whole deep litter method. I was running low on my hay and ordered (admittedly by accident) Grounds - where it's old coffee grounds used. I've read reviews how people swear by this...Seems odd to me and maybe not really for me since I am doing the deep litter method...I actually thought it was hay but then when I went to pick it up...coffee grounds. They sell it at Tractor supply so I"m just curious who here has used it? Is it worth using? SHOULD it be used seeing that my coop is on the ground? I attached a pic of my coop so you can see what I'm talking about.

The grounds thing is new.
I've heard one other member rave about them,
but they just started using them so long haul results are still out.
Curious if there's any other ingredients other than coffee grounds in there?

Do you plan on deep litter on the ground in the run, or up in the coop on the floor?
If doing a true composting deep litter on the dirt of the run,
some coffee grounds should be OK.

Oh, and ....Welcome to BYC! @djseraphim

You should try it - then write a post about it - and if it's successful, suddenly dozens of people will have coffee ground poop boards. :)
Wondering about this latest 'fad', er, chicken product.
What prompted it, WhoTheHeck thought it up....
....are there that much underutilized used coffee grounds around?
Might look for it next time I go to TSC in a few weeks.
