Coffee's ready...

Morning everyone. Have not been on in a while and am trying to catch up with what I missed. The coffee sure is good this morning as I am not really awake yet.

Sissy, Blizzard is growing and doing just fine. TSC gets peeps this coming Saturday so I may get her a buddy. It will depend on what breeds they have. I've never had silkies, they sure sound like fun tho. I don't think TSC ever gets them.

We had nice weather all week and now the clouds are rollin in. It dried out nicely here, even their runs got dry enough for them to have dust baths. We also had them free ranging for like an hour before dark and they just loved it. They didn't know where to run to first to go dig for those yummy worms and bugs. It's wonderful to see them running free after being stuck in a coop for weeks on end with all the snow we had. I feel bad for those still getting that stuff.

Well, gotta get back to the coffee bar for a refill. Have a nice Sunday all. And thanks for the hugs Sissy, they helped!

Good morning, Everyone!

Yesterday was a beautiful spring day. Today a little cloudy - the rain is holding off longer than foretold. I'm going back to raking after I finished this cup.

This morning I gave my son two dozen eggs to put under the five broody hens he has - they all decided at once that it was time for babies. And this coming Friday, I will be starting some eggs in the incubator.

Got to start next year's crop of layers.

It's been a busy week and I don't think I've chimed in lately. But I've been thinking of you all. Have a wonderful day, and may the sun keep shining.

Good morning chicken wranglers
The campout went well only 3 inches of snow to contend with. Four five mile hikes and several snow ball fights among the boys made it tolerable. The kids played ucre and black jack all weekend .I was happy to see my own son cooking cleaning and not complaining"knowing full well the not complaining part would have a very short span of existance. All was pleasant to say the least. I think I am ready for new chicks, cornish rocks to be exact 30 or so to butcher about mid july, how about you guys?

Good morning all my co-Flock tenders,
Having my second cup,Ichecked on my ladies,I have 3 broodys so
I guess they will be replenishing my stock..I hope its more hens then roos.

I may be going to see what TSC has today.

I have a 4month old, blu orp. Roo.
I will try to get TSC
to find it a good home, he's a tame beauty
Kismet glad to see you back, I too wish the sun keeps shinning.
all we have had is clouds and drizzles.
Enjoy ur morning coffee and have a wonderful and fullfilling day.

Good evening, Everyone! I am actually enjoying a glass of wine (second best to coffee) - it was a reward I promised myself if I finished an hour of saxophone practice. A great incentive it was, I must say. The taunting spring preview has taken a back seat - the next few days are supposed to be cold. My hens have taken a back seat to laying, too. I only got two today.

I just started the incubator warming up for a couple days. I plan to set some eggs either Friday or Saturday, and I want to make sure everything's working properly.
Have a great tomorrow! And enjoy that coffee.

I hope to bring home a few new chicks!

I'm feeling the urge to undertake a sewing project, too.

My garden has its first set of seedlings already popping through the ground. I am ready to plant round two.
