Coffee's ready...

Well, I'm actually a Nigerian prince, but the IRS has frozen my funds. I just need you to send me 30000 dollars to get it freed, and I will share my 300 million with you.

yeah I get those. "Deposit is waiting" .

I do have half a mind, but wish I could send them information on a bogus account and see their faces when they try to tap into it.

Morning people,

Looks like you people are having fun with your email. Depending on your email clients, there are ways to filter them (emails).

We are making more apple sauce and canning it today. The last batch of apple sauce, we plowed right through it. At the rate we were consuming it, I don't think it would last till the new year.

I should start bring wood into the house. From what the better half sounds and looks like, I think I'll be starting a fire soon.

I had a show yesterday, and it had a "Steampunk" theme. Has anyone heard of it? It was a great show. A bunch of young people put it on. They have a lot of energy.

Enjoy your day,

Kaj

Felix: Being that it was the first time we have seen steampunk, and not knowing much about, we enjoyed it. A lot of the vendors and about half the people attending were in costumes. It sort of reminded me of the Rocky Horror Show and Beetle Juice costumes. I told the organizers, when they have it again next year, I'll be in costume. The organizer for a Victorian show asked if I would like to participate in her show. I told I would, same thing, people get dressed up and such. I told her I don't have a costume and she was good with it. My wares make up for it.

Enjoy your day

DW is wanting to pick apples but getting the grandkids and all together isn't easy. Too some days she doesn't feel up to it. I still have apples sauce from last year. We don't eat much. I do have berries to make jelly with and have got to get moving.

It's cold here and I've been catching mice left and right. Once even had two in one trap. Not in the house of course but the garage and chickens run.

Had to set a rat trap for the chipmunk I saw in the garage. He'd been stealing from the mouse traps I think. Too I'd been dumping the mice in a pile only to find them gone. Do chipmunks eat dead mice?

Morning People,

Cool days are upon us, leaves are turning, pretty soon a fire in the stove. I woke up to 60f in the house this morning. Today's project is to cut a haul a red oak for next years heat.

@rancher hicks : We found a orchard that sells "utility" apples. To me, they look like drops but for apple sauce they are what I am looking for. They are about half the price of eating apples, and just a bit more then picking. They also have butternut and acorn squashes for a $1.00/lb. Around here they cost anywhere between $1.29 - $1.49/lbs.

I have no clue if chipmucks are a carnivore. I always figured I was feeding the feral cats or crows.

Kaj, that coffee grinder of yours goes well with the steampunk philosophy.
The pepper grinders did very well.

Enjoy your day,
Kaj

Last year I got about a half bushel for $4 at Hafners. We do pick apples with the grandkids too.

I grew Butternut one year. They did good and the chickens tried but couldn't break through the skin. We however didn't like them compared to the Butttercup I grew one year.

We do like the Acorns though. Squirrels were a terror that year.

It must have been the chipmunk eating the dead mice, cuz his carcass is still there along with yesterdays catch.

I'm still catching little ones. The must be quite small cuz some traps are clean but not set.
