36° here this morning! It was SO nice the last two days with temps in the mid to high 60's. Winter has started though- ready or not! I'm thankful we don't have the snow that many others are waking up to...yet.

Morning people,
I hoe this finds you all doing well and looks like you are enjoying this "spring" weather. It's about 53f this morning when I fell out of bed. We processed our turkeys and had a couple of 22lbs, 1 20lbs and 1 17lbs. We are going to be sampling one this weekend. Still eating out of our garden, kale, chard and collar greens. The furnace is still in a dormant state.

The colder weather is due to arrive here this afternoon and run about 10 degrees below normal for a bit. Still eating heirloom tomatoes. It will be a sad day when they run out. Colts Neck Orchard sells heirloom tomatoes - $4.99/lb

Have to wonder how many thousands of $ worth I grew and ate this season.

It's raining here. 52* the high.

While I worked til dark I still didn't get everything done. We may get some snow here but I don't expect what the midwest got.

I hadn't secured the tarp over the shavings so it blew off and now their wet. They are wrapped in plastic but I still want them covered.

I've been feeling better after being sick for a month. I'm not sure my allergy medicine is up to the weather.

So much to do so little time.

Rancher, both the Princess and I had that lingering cold - 5 + weeks that included a dry cough that is just now letting up for her. I toughed it out - she treated symptoms with allergy meds.

Freeze tonight so I did the final gleaning of the tomato plants. I gathered another 19 green tomatoes ranging in size from a pigeon egg up to a hen egg. This plus 5 on the window sill in varying stages of ripeness is all there will be. Wonder if I could grow plants in the bathroom? It's well lighted and has a Southern exposure maximizing lighting. Wonder if the Princess will agree?

She didn't want a garden in the front yard.

'taint even cold yet, hit 27 degrees F (about -3 c) and a couple of snowflakes this morning (actually more like sky dandruff than snowflakes) and my chooks spent a lot of time hiding out in their coop instead of playing in the run.

Wimps.

Yesterday I finished mowing the lawn wearing a short sleeved shirt. Right now it's snowing and everything is already covered with about an inch of snow - this wasn't supposed to be.
