Snow molds?

I've seen yellow snow but never moldy snow.

The grass get's what's known as snow mold on it, a white mold growing on the grass. It kills it, or at least makes it grow a lot worse in the spring. Keeping the grass short under the snow helps. Of course, this might just be a problem over here and you don't have the same molds.

Well I nearly got all the lawn mowed, but there was so much to do. Mostly I was after the leaves for my compost and raised beds.

yesterday I ,

covered the garlic with hay, recovered a hoop coop, emptied and put away all the flower pots, put away all lawn decorations, burned some old logs and Buckthorn branches, Mulched currant and jostaberry bushes with compost. ( I forgot the gooseberries, but may get a nice day yet)

Still there is much to do.

Snowed much of the time but just a dusting. It is cold but not as cold as I fear it will get. I still don't understand where this globe is warming cuz it sure don't seem to be warming here. I do believe in climate change just the same.

Vehve, how about some pictures of your area?

Global warming !!!!! I do believe but Louisville is 20° below NORMAL for this I could have stayed up in the Berkshires. Garden 1/2 fall tilled. Well 1/2 1/2 tilled. Put a bunch of leaves on it to till into the clay. after several passes still a lot of leaves on top. Furniture in still have to mulch and wrap the Fig Tree (more like a bush) Coop still above freezing at night. Can tell by the poop board that they are cuddling together more. It is nice to see them getting along better now that all are laying.

Note that global warming refers to climate, not weather. Weather is local and short term, climate is global and long term. People get very confused by the difference. Climate has a huge effect on weather, but weather is not climate.

As the planet warms, water levels shift, plant and animal life change, winds change, and that can cause all manner of localized weather events, warm and cold, wet and dry, etc.

I'm misunderstanding these definitions then. As far as THIS weather is concerned it's covering the entire state, not just the county I live in.
