Coffee's ready...

Well, I've been lurking again. Trying to get to a point to sit down and get caught up. Rancher, Sour, come on down, the coffee is on and it is 42° at 11:34 p.m. hit 50 today with clear blue. So much better than that cold, damp rain we have been having but I don't have to shovel it. Best of luck with that tree branch, they can be killers.

Christmas tree # 51 is up and decorated, and of course it's "The most beautiful one ever."

Where did those years go, and how did they go so rapidly? I think that laughter must speed up time.

Don't tempt me.

Its going to get warmer and wet here. It's melting now. Poor chickens are being terrorized by the dang squirrels. Won't go into the coop. I guess I just have to keep dealing with them. I get rid of one and two move into the area.

Haven't seen any new tracks in the snow lately.

I've been after DW to buy an artificial but she keeps fighting me. This year we're back to the little artificial since there is no money for a real tree. I've also tried to get her to buy a "live" tree so we can plant it later, but she's not up for that either.

Yes I hear ya on where did time go. I wonder myself sometimes. More worry about where or how things will end. Old timers never talk about that. Guess it's one of those things we choose not to think about.

My grandkids keep us going when they are here. No time to think of much then. We've been calling my grandson little Timmy since everyone says he looks like me. Poor kid.

I've already taken to buying him books. "Timmy Failure" . There funny by one of the guys who writes "Pearls Before Swine". The comic strip. One of my favorites.

Gotta run, DW is calling,

ta, ta for now.

Always on the back burner. The thought of being dependent upon anyone else is hard to deal with. My mother lived on her own until 95 - she did ask me to take over her finances somewhere in her early 90's. We're hoping for the same game plan - fully aware that to a large degree it is outside of our control.

I don't want someone to take over my finances, just pay my bills.

In 2011 we had an early snowstorm ( Mid Oct) when the leaves were still on the trees. Trees down all over, a large maple right on the house - power outage for 7 + days. The next year we were visited with Hurricane Sandy - power out for 10 days. 2013 we put in a generator capable of handling the entire house. After 3 days I smell bad, and the Princess refuses to snuggle. Good luck with the clean up.

The trees are in the woods so no cleanup not really an emergency. We did have a tree fall this past spring but it did minor damage to the house. What was left has been cut down.

I can't figure out how to cut the tree down without dropping it on the coop.

Went and put 'grave blankets' on the Princess's parents and Grandmothers' graves. Last year we were up to our knees in snow in doing so - this year no problem. Stopped at European Provisions on the way back and bought some kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, chicken/barley soup and cruschikkis (sp). Good stuff for sure.
