My broody hen is on 5 eggs in a dog crate. We open the crate every morning and close it at night. She only gets off her nest for 20 min or so once a day. Apparently when she got off her nest today she wasn't able to get back into the crate. I have no idea how long she was off her eggs but when I found her sitting next to the crate her eggs were cold. 
I got her back on her eggs ASAP, but I'm wondering if this is the end for our unborn chickies?
