My quail enjoy heating pads made just for poultry. They use less energy than a heat lamp and thermostat controlled so they don't over heat or start a fire.Hi guys, I have 3 hens living outside in their hen house and coop combo. We have some 25-30 degree nights coming up. Do I need to put a heat lamp inside their house or anything else to keep them warm?
Agree that at some point heat may be beneficial, but certainly not at 25*F.Also I am in Minnesota so there is extreme cold.
My method for dealing with winter is quite simple one extra feeder of whole corn. I live in Canada subject to -40º. I have 67 trips around the sun. I have raised various types of chickens and birds for decades.Do I need to put a heat lamp inside their house
