Is it possible to have a small, (2 -8 bird) aviary outside, up north?

what doves/ pigions do well in cold climates, if any?

any ideas or sugestion would be fun, I was just wondering... my husband asked, and I had no idea!!

go to npausa.com the website for national pigeon club there are members that can answer and help with any ? you have first i would try the state rep they could give you local breeders

my ringneck doves have always stayed outside all winter, the only time i use heat is when its below -10. any pigeon breed will do fine. just stay away from the smaller doves and the exotic fruit eaters diamonds, bleeding hearts etc...

My diamond doves did great in a covered outside aviary with no heat. The top is always covered and the sides had 6 mil poly on them.
In N.H.,tony.

huh, i'v never heard of keeping diamond outside up around here. then again i don't know very many people with diamonds and was just going off of what i'd heard. whatever works.
