cold weather egg laying

I was wondering if its common to have my buff brahma bantams to start there egg laying in december? they started just before last christmas and im getting one almost everyday!

That mostly depends on their ages I think. Mine started just before Thanksgiving and unless it's really cold, like frost in the morning cold where their little bodies have to work to conserve heat as opposed to working to make and egg, they usually lay everday too. Sooooo, have a great breakfast, compliments of your chickens!!

thank you I get 1-2 eggs every other day and breakfast is is overeasy.

Mine have also started laying. Weird, silly hens! I also have lights on my coop and they get a higher protein feed in the winter along with cracked corn. The shells are a bit thin, but the eggs sure are yummy!
