cold weather tips?

I don't think I have seen this particular ventilation situation addressed: If you have a coop that is entirely screened on the protected side (south) do you still need to have ventilation on the opposite side, or will the open side allow enough air flow? Their roost is on the north side, away from the opening.

Thanks for all of the information. The shed is 10x10x8. It has one window and one roof vent. I keep the window open during the warmer weather for ventilation but now that it is closed I am going to add another roof vent on the opposite side. I am also going to keep a light on in the early evening seeing that it is dark before 5pm. I have pine shavings on the floor and I also throw in some hay. They have plenty of water, food, fruits and veggies as treats. We already had about an inch or two of snow in October...I enjoyed watching the hens when I opened the door. The eager ones jumped out without hesitation while some stood back to figure out what was on the ground! It didn't take long before all 13 of them were running in it.

Thanks again

If I read this correctly you essentially have an open front coop. Should be fine. Many of the older coops around here were three sided, w/ a wire mesh front.
