What's the coldest weather can chickens endure?

Living southern Arizona last year it hit 0 degrees. chickens did fine. they slept in the coop with out heat lamps.

Most people say that -20 F is about as cold as you want it to get before you supplement with heat.

In the link below, the book tells of people keeping chickens in open air coops, with temps at -40F, with NO added heat, THAT's cold.
