My chickens are not fertile but I don't always collect the eggs every day. Someone told me the eggs don't even have to be refrigerated. Is that true? Or should we not eat any eggs that were not collected with in a few hours after they were laid?

Depends on the temp in the coop. But unwashed eggs are easily good for a month unrefrigerated if kept reasonably dry and cool. Amazing aren't they?

My eggs are fertile and if left in the coop in the summer for too long undesirable things begin to happen if it's too warm.
