Collie guarding the babies **pics**

Are you sure that isn't drool at the corner of her mouth?

Could be! She does kinda 'nose' 'em and lick 'em while they're in my hands. I can't wait for a few months from now when she's asleep in the yard with little blond chickens all over her...

LOL my Lab lays outside the run with that exact same expression..... given a chance he will have chicken for dinner. Hope your dog is different!

Yep, she's kinda different. She is pretty well trained and knows what is 'hers' and what is 'mine'. She is 2 yrs. old and seems to love all other animals and people (so far). We had a really wonderful black lab that we had to put down last year; I'm afratid that we would have had to supervise her a little closer with the chicks, but Patsy-not so much. Just a reminder; everybody should supervise their chicks with other creatures; its just best to avoid the possibility of a tragedy.

Aww. My pit bull gets sad if I don't let him say hi to the chicks, so when I'm holding one he waits until I tell him its okay and ever so gentley he'll sniff then lick every baby chick. Just one lick each and then he's waiting for the next one. If I didn't know better I'd think he's counting them or checking that they're all there.

Thank you! I'll inform her of her winning the honors when I get home! She'll be so proud...
