Hi I have a 4 week old Cornish cross that has bumble foot. I want to help it out since it's not walking. I read that soaking the foot in colloidal silver could be beneficial and is a good natural antibiotic for chickens.

Does anyone know if it's safe to eat chickens that have been given colloidal silver? I'm considering adding some to their drinking water.

I have not used it.
I had a friend that drank it himself. My mother's wound care specialist gave a cream that contained it
So since it's used on people, I would eat the chickens

I would eat the chicken, I've taken colloidal silver before and also used it as a foot soak for hyperkeratosis on one chick's foot. I also used several other things and kept her foot bandaged for two weeks so can't say exactly what helped or if it was the whole cocktail together, but I think it's worth a try. If you do bandage the foot make sure it is dry before you do.
