I can't help noticing that apparently there have been a lot of new members recently. How do we know that these are real people and not robots tired of talking to each other on Moltbook?

Spring is coming and that happens as people who have never had chickens, ordered some, then wonder what they're to do lol.I can't help noticing that apparently there have been a lot of new members recently. Sufficient Self, BackYard Herds, and The Easy Garden have tons of bot accounts that make it through the filters. Occasionally I'll go through and report the ones I can, but it usually takes a while before they get banned.Robots don't generally make it through the filters, but if they do, someone usually spots them and reports them.
Can robots actually make full on introductions?I can't help noticing that apparently there have been a lot of new members recently. How do we know that these are real people and not robots tired of talking to each other on Moltbook?
Programmers maybe could program that ability, but to my knowledge, we've not seen it yet.Can robots actually make full on introductions?
As others have mentioned, an increase in new members at this time of year is normal. I also keep a “new member” list, which lets me quickly scan all new accounts and their reasons for joining, and I haven't seen anything unusual.I can't help noticing that apparently there have been a lot of new members recently. At the end of the day, what is your specific concern? If it's regarding the security of other members, people are responsible for the level of information that they share, whether it's with other human members or potential bots...I can't help noticing that apparently there have been a lot of new members recently. Thank you for addressing the question Debbie and focussing on methods rather than past performance. But I was asking how I (rather than the site) can tell whether a new member is real. If the answer is 'trust the site filters' that's more like a religious creed than a method.Robots don't generally make it through the filters
Statistics by week or at least month on that over the last 10 years could be interesting.new member counts for the year or two years?
I don't like having the wool pulled over my eyes, and I don't want unconsciously to move into a land of make-believe. I imagine the site sponsors don't want to advertize to robots either, as they don't buy anything. At the end of the day, what is your specific concern?
