What color/s is/are the Huastec eggs?

The two up-and-down rows in the center of this photo are Haustec eggs I got to hatch. They were different, I'd describe them as shades of brown-gray-green and gray-brown.

I have not heard of or seen pics of the Copetona breed could someone please post a pic and some info I would love to know more about them I love the SA breeds that I have seen. Where do they originate from . Who has the original stock who has them for sell .Thanks

I really don't know as it can be called 'breed'... maybe one of the 'types'. Starting with post 337 there are many links, and when they are clicked on sometimes it takes you to additional links. It takes careful reading to access some of the information that explains the Copetona, if I understand it right. It is 'recent' information, because few people care or have the patience to find out what is recorded in South American writings - Spanish, Portugese, Native languages and dialects. Some chicken types discovered there less than a hundred years ago have already faded away - perhaps mixed with the european birds that flooded the continent since then. Most of the people in south america don't care, they are practical - it's just a food source. The natives have interesting superstitions about certain types - naked neck, feathered feet, crested and so forth - reasons why they want them around the home...
I got one of these Sweeet little hens in an egg order from either SparkyCrows or ChooksChick a couple of years ago. I have been trying to find her a proper mate ever since (I got white and black mixed grandbabies of hers that may be keepers this summer. They have the black skin and five toes - shows promise!) She was a 'no name' bird until recently, when the Copetona name popped up. After following the links and reading for what seemed like days there was an 'aha' moment when I found the answer - buried in a translation, if I remember right. FINALLY, I had a kind of explanation for what I have been looking for. They don't necessarily look the same as each other. (I want them to be crested, dark skinned, five toed, blue/gray with streaked feathers - and a squirrel tail HaHa, to match my hen). They seem to be similar to the Hedemora and Icelandic by way of explanation... several types within a land race kind of bird. Perhaps they are becoming mixed with some other types - maybe out of necessity if there is so little available stock in the US to work with. I have one chick out of the latest order of eggs from sparkycrows that I hope is a keeper. Most eggs don't make it, maybe they are weak; many times I get nothing from an order. I got three beautiful white paint birds with pale skin this time that I have no use for - I remember a grandparent bird on ChookChick page that was small, had dark skin, lovely icy white feathers with black flecks and mulberry colored comb like my Huastec rooster. I think some Polish got introduced after that, and they had some predator and heat problems that forced merging of different types. My granddaughters want them as pets, they hatched from large peachy/pink eggs. If one is a boy there might be a chance to breed back?????

I've never seen these types anywhere else except they look similar to Englands Araucana - they developed their Araucanas differently than here in the US - and they lay blue eggs. My Copetona lays an oblong beige egg, they hatch so easy; one little pip, rest on and off, then with a mighty shove the whole thing splits open.

Somebody laid a little round beige egg a couple of days ago; its 10 weeks since my little black sizzle hatched - is it possible? It can't be my 2 ameraucanas that hatched the same week because they wouldn't have beige eggs anyway, and they are much too young. The Huastec and Olmec are nine weeks old...
It's not my silkies, they have new babies and my OEG bantam lays beige pointy eggs. There is nobody else but my blue egg laying ameraucana that is molting and lays blue eggs if she was in the mood, two hens setting and my 2 roosters. It seems to early for any of the little girls, they have been on game bird starter since they hatched and the little ameraucanas combs went red recently - I was even worried they were turning into boys

Is it possibly my pointy egg OEG girl would lay one different all of a sudden? She just started laying a week ago and drove off her 10 week old chicks.

It is much more likely that one of the older ones laid an egg. 10 weeks old is very young for laying eggs.
