@bardies There's nothing better than a roadtrip with people you like! Shelbydog is dragging me to Joplin to pick up a chicken, so I'll make her come with us. And then we get to meet Grannychick55 too! If she doesn't mind, that is. Chicken people are the coolest people.

It'll be like Christmas, but with chickens! **hums the tune to Over the river and through the woods, to Grannychick's house we go...**

Perhaps some of you want to come to NE Kansas to pick up a few? I finally have my new facility built and have 4 pairs of SoAms to offer. They're about 4 months old right now, and look a lot like the various Colloncas peeps have pictured here. I prefer not to use the given names as mine are composites, but Grannychick's roo is of the same combination.

I'll have eggs for sale as weather permits within the next month, I expect.

Hi so the ones Yashar sent me are not pure but composites ? He said the were pure from his breeding stock and that they had not been outcrossed I am no expert so I am confused .

I should maybe explain I did not get eggs from him he sent grown birds he said they were pure from breeding stock he also sent Huastecs also from his breeding stock I am not sure why he would say they were pure if not he seems like a very honest man and it does not matter I still love them

Okay I have the answer to what is considered pure bred with Colloncas the term Colloncas means a chicken without a tail so they are not pure breeds in the sense that chickens here are. These are breeding stock from Yashar and have not been crossed with anything else.

We made it through without losing any chickens but I did have heat lamps on just over waters . I will be glad to see the warmer weather.
