That does make it difficult to know how to breed these. Will you now breed back to the father to see if you can establish taillessness? It WOULD give you much needed information. We do this in toy poodles after we out-cross. It lets us see what recessives are lurking in the new lines.

I have been thinking about it and am not sure what would be best. I will ask someone with alot more experince than me. Is that what your move would be ? I think you have alot more experince than I do.

We have done it in dogs especially when something untoward shows up in the out-cross breeding. We usually breed back to the sire because that is usually the dog that is the out-cross. One of the Araucana breeders breeds a new rooster's daughters back to him to see if there is any problems in the line. She had a very promising rooster she did that with and she had a high percentage of feather legged progeny. Think how many years she could have used this rooster and not known he carried such a fault?

I would ask the advice though of others that you trust and your personal feelings about inbreeding. Some people are very much opposed to the idea.

I am really sure about inbreeding I have some issues about doing that. I have another roo who is tailless I think I will breed them to when they get old enough. I may just put them in the layer flock just because they are cool looking .They will proably be white I hope the blue skin stays though.
