The males offspring you posted carry the gold allele and it would appear that the male in the picture is a barred silver birchen ( I do not see a silver duck wing on the bird). I have never been able to produce gold male birds from a silver rooster. All the research indicates that silver males will produce silver males and silver females. ??????????????????????? It is possible he is heterozygous and also carries a gold allele- this way he could produce both silver and gold offspring.

Pretty much what you see here came out of that cross. Last year I made a Silver Duckwing with one of the same lines that is in these. I have made Dun, Dun Birchen, when crossed onto a Shafer Cuckoo line I made Rosecomb Bantams Cuckoos. I never know what will pop out next.

Hi, I realise I'm replying to an old thread and am also in the UK, so my answer may not be relevant to the original question, but just wanted to say thatI've been breeding Buff Columbian Orpingtons for many years now - as far as I know I may be the only person in the Uk who is doing so - there are a couple of other breeders here with BLUE Buff Col Orps that show the Col. markings in dilute form, but that's not quite the same.......
