Color Faverolles are these?

True, not all hatchery Salmon Faverolles are this dark. But the majority of them are. Some are even darker.

I'm been looking at a lot of old BYC threads and have seen pictures of many of the dark and off color "salmon" faverolles, so I know what you mean.

The odd part is I actually think some of the "off type" colored salmon faverolles are really nice looking birds ... they are just not nice looking "salmon" birds!

Here are are a couple from Cackle Hatchery that mostly show the range of color in the 8 I received from them. Certainly not "Show Quality"... but they make the grade as "Farm Quality"!

I have one that has darker salmon color with sorta' black lacing and a really black beard... but I don't have a good picture of her at the moment.

Maybe not, I guess I didn’t seem to think my post was focused on true color
And more of a general color as google as sooooo many different colors

I think I was the one that pulled the focus of the thread in that direction with the link.

In any case, as I was just saying in my other reply, I find the "off type" color salmon faverolles to be really interesting, so please post back some pics of your pullets when they get older so we can see how they feather in.

Also my darkest most off type one is one of the sweetest birds, and of course that is where the faverolles really shine.

Love love love those color contrasts, so gorgeous!

I have 3 Dominiques that are the pushiest of the 3 breeds I currently have, and while they are not really poorly behaved, they do push the faverolles around a bit.... so I've been thinking they might find a new home. ;)

Yes! We found new homes for the bullies, they not only pecked the sweet Mopsies (the 3 Faverolles, my son named one of them but we couldn’t tell the difference so they have become a name for all of them hahaha) but also some of the more docile larger birds so they are in new home, where they will probably be lower on the pecking order, HahahA pun intended

We might have to steal that! I can't tell who is who very well either.

We had 3 bantam cochins, that have since gone to live with my niece, and I just called them Moe, Larry, and Curly even though they are pullets... but I never could tell Moe from Larry and so on either, so they were just sort of collectively "the Stooges" ;)

Argh if I was closer I’d take them. I want some faverolles so badly-they’re adorable.

 No, no, no! the doms might find a new home. The favs are staying! Quit trying to claim the Mopsies! :p

Oh. :hit NO I SHALL TAKE THE CUTIES!!

Just wanted to share my updated pics of the ladies. They are awesome and we can super tell the difference now that they have come into their own colors. The colors have gotten so gorgeous! Not to hate on true salmon color Faverolles but I think my girls are prettier, but I’m partial. Hahaha

Thanks for the updates!

I forgot about the term "mopsies" already... I started to refer to mine as the muppets somewhere a long the line..

I like the contrast of the darker ones too... but I like those really light ones that the exhibition breeders produce also.... I'm just conflicted , lol

I like that you can tell your's apart... I have 3 that look like each other, four that are darker, but like each other, and one that stands out on her own due to her beard.
