I free range my chickens and have been collecting my Wheaten Maran eggs to hatch. I have one blue copper maran hen and I can tell the difference in her egg. But now they are starting to look similar.
If I understand the color calculator the wheaten x blue chicks will not be produce any wheaten chicks they all will be 50% black 50% blue is this correct?

Just want to know when the chicks hatch that a wheaten maran x blue copper maran can not produce a wheaten color chick?

I think it's going to depend on the purity of your blue bird. A lot of the black coppers seem to harbor recessive Wheaten, we see folks on here quite a bit who breed two black or blue Marans and wind up with a Wheaten chick. So, if your blue girl is carrying recessive Wheaten, she could easily throw a Wheaten chick with a Wheaten cock.
