Crele is barring on a clean red duckwing. He does not have the duckwing patch so he is obviously on either E or ER.. basically a leaky black chicken- very typical of a black crossed with colored chicken or birchen(aka brown red, or the so called red copper as in marans).

The color on his hackles is most likely due to being Ss+.. in other words he's half silver half red. As in red duckwing crossed to silver duckwing, the roosters sometimes are called "Golden duckwing".. basically silver is dominant but sometimes the red pigment will show up anyways in varying degrees.

If he throws both red and silver daughters, that is proof he is half silver half red.

this ones mine. The result of a cuckoo roo over wheaten hen. What is this classed as?

but the pictured bird is still not an araucana.  I know they have crested and tailed araucanas; those birds are not the breed.  I've seen photos of english and australian araucanas.

He's a project Araucana... just like Lavender Ameraucanas are a project and not called EE's like other non SOP colors...

Just because a given bird does not fit an SOP exactly doesn't mean it isn't... and in fact, even Araucanas in the US come out with partial tails and full tails, tufted and clean faced... this happens even in flocks that have been bred for many years...

SQ is what is strived for, but a breeder could be lucky to get a single SQ bird out of a hundred...

what kind of project? yes, project birds can fall far from the standard, but are usually IDed as being a project; at least until they have a fair amount of breed conformity. Getting the best of the best may be a 1 in 1000 proposition, but getting birds that are breed standard are pretty much a given if both parents conform.
