I have some turkey eggs hatching, 2 out of 3 so far. My hens: One Bronze (was from a group of Tiger Bronze), one Broad Breasted Bronze, and two Broad Breasted White. Males: I have one Broad Breasted Bronze tom (hefty boy but not huge) and the resident Eastern Wild tom who showed up with his mom 7 years ago and never left. My question is, isn't Bronze dominant over white? I have one chick that hatched yellow. Possible parthenogenisis? Thoughts?

White is recessive and when homozygous can mask any other colors. Only trial breeding your white turkeys with other varieties can determine which other colors the white is masking.

There are multiple varieties of poults that hatch yellow and develop their other colors as they grow.

I also had two female bronze and one male bronze that I had only one single egg hatch and ended up being white. How does this happen?
